Welcome to Fairhead Lodge, a beautiful 3 bedroom house nestled in the Glens of Antrim on Fair Head, situated just 5 miles outside Ballycastle and 9 miles from Cushendun, a lovely drive through the Glens of Antrim. A few minutes’ drive will take you into Ballycastle where you will find beautiful beaches, the harbour, Ballycastle Golf Course, Play parks and award winning fish and chips! There is a host of activities and things to see and do in the local area or just relax on the beach.

The property really is ’Home from Home’. It sleeps 8 in 3 bedrooms, the main bedroom has a sofa bed. The family property in the North Coast is unique in catering for kids of all ages. The games room with a pool table and TV are ideal for relaxing after a long day exploring the coasts, mountains and quaint tourist villages. The outside space includes a wooden Play frame and 4g Grass Pitch which keep the kids entertained for hours. This well-equipped house will ensure your stay at Fairhead Lodge is both comfortable and yet practical for all your holiday needs

History of the Area

Fairhead Lodge is located in the Parish of Culfeightrin – Townland of Coolnagoppage.  Copóg translates to large leaf or dock, and is a common place name element throughout Ireland. Crooknaboley (Cnoc na buaile – hill of the summer pasture) refers to the ancient farming practice of booleying, or living with the livestock during summer grazing. Along the burn from Crooknaboley to Ballyvennaght are a group of rectangular booley houses. The town of Coolnagoppage was once known as ‘Little Dublin’ – this clachan contained an amazing 32 houses in 1849! Today the Clachan is much smaller.
